About Lourd Vijay
Guinness world record holder Lourd Vijay has a list of accolades to his credit. From having created a latin dance revolution by introducing Salsa to India to creating some of India’s best dancers catapulting them to fame and fortune. Lourd has been the judge of the Asia Pacific Salsa Open Championship and the Asian Open Salsa Championship.
The principal promoter of Latin culture, music and dance in the Asian region, he is also a trainer for popular dance reality show Dance India Dance. He was recently recognised for his contributions made to the latin Dance industry by getting a life time achievement award at India fiesta Latina.

Salsa
Salsa means sauce in Spanish and in this case the sauce can be hot and spicy! As with many dances, the creation of the dance followed the creation of the music. Salsa is far less formal and is open to innovation. It is considered a true dance of the people: changing and adapting across different cultures and landscapes.
It is played by artists in countries from France to Japan, paired up with music styles from pop to jazz, and can range from being energetic and explosive to intimate and romantic. It has become a world-wide phenomenon because it is so malleable, and the music… wow, the music…

I have always wanted to learn salsa and joining LVDS has be a very good decision that I made last year and am glad that Lourd is my teacher. From no experience he has taken me in a structured but hugely fun way to a point where I enjoy dancing Salsa socially but always want to improve what I do. Put simply he not only made me addictive to Salsa but Swing and Jive. The class mix allows you to hone your skill with different age groups and be more adaptable. I also love the classes because they cover the techniques and fundamentals of dancing salsa to help improve understanding of music and the quality of your salsa, swing and jive dancing.
